Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal Cat Eyes

I was in Ulta and I saw this mascara. I knew I had to try it because it had a cheetah print design on it. I got the waterproof one because I don’t have any waterproof mascara at the moment. It’s an average mascara. I wouldn’t say I love the mascara itself, but I do love the packaging. It has a curved wand/brush which is okay. I’m not a huge fan of curved brushes, but I don’t hate them. It had a lot thicker consistency than the Maybelline Mega Plush Volum’ Express Mascara. I prefer using this one on my bottom lashes because it does lengthen and voluminize, but not enough for my top lashes. I think everyone should give it a try. And if you don’t like it at least it’s cute to have in your makeup collection.

Maybelline The Mega Plush Volum’ Express Mascara Review

I saw this in Target and it was under $6 so I thought why not. Maybelline normally has decent mascara. I used this a few times. I hate it. It doesn’t give any volume to your lashes. It makes them a little longer but not really any different than any other mascara. I am very disappointed because I thought this was going to be a good or at least decent mascara. I dislike everything about this product, except the packaging. I tried to take a picture from like two feet away and you couldn’t tell I had eyelashes. It looks as if I have a full face of makeup but forgot to put on my mascara. I tried layering it. I tried putting it on before a volumizing mascara and then putting it on after a volumizing mascara. Nothing worked. It did absolutely nothing. Nobody should get this. It is not worth the money.

My Must Have Items When I’m Doing Makeup

Bath and Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Spray in Sea Island Cotton
The most important thing to me is having hand sanitizer. My favorite is the spray one in Sea Island Cotton scent. I need to have clean hands when doing makeup. The scent also makes my hands smell really fresh and clean, but is not over bearing.  Not only are my hands all up in my face or someone else’s face, but I use the back of my hand as a palette. I will use it to mix foundations, concealers, cream blushes, to swatch products and whatever else my heart desires.

Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover
This is amazing. I always make sure I have this around. Sometimes I will still have on a little makeup from earlier or I didn’t get all of my eyeliner off the night before. Then sometimes when I’m halfway done I decide I don’t like what’s happening and need to start over. I love using it on a qtip and making a sharp dramatic line instead of having a really blended out eye look. I use it on the pointed qtips to fix my winged eyeliner.

Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
I really like this product. I always keep it with me incase I do a full face of makeup and need a setting spray. Once I’m done with my makeup I just spray about four times and then I’m done. It’s great to use during the day to make sure your makeup doesn’t sweat off because that’s never a good look. I love to use it as a primer if I either run out or cannot find my normal primer.

Lush Honey Trap Lip Balm
I love love love this lip calm. I have super chapped lips and this feels like heaven on them. It’s really creamy and thick. I put it on before I start to do my make up. Then when I go to do my lipstick I wipe it off and put on some EOS lip balm and then whatever lipstick I decide for that day. I also put it on my lips at night if I feel like they are dry and chapped. Then by the morning they feel amazing.

Sephora Daily Makeup Brush Cleaner
I love to experiment with different types of eye shadows: dark, shimmer, matte, bright, colorful. I don’t have an unlimited supply of make up brushes so I have to clean them if I use an intense color like a bright blue, dark green, or some type of dark smokey color. This is a great product to have just in case you don’t have time to do a deep brush cleaning, but need to get them clean.

Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water Review

When I first heard about cleansing water I was so confused. I just didn’t understand. Was it suppose to be like a make up remover wipe where you use it before you wash your face at night to make sure you get all of the make up off? Or as a refresher, like after the gym or in place of a toner or astringent? I asked my friend Kelly what exactly cleansing water was and she tried to explain it, but it just didn’t click in my head what she was trying to say. I googled and read about the different brands with them. All of them said they were a no rinse cleanser for sensitive skin. I decided to try out the Sephora brand one because I have never had a problem with any of their skin products. I keep one in my gym bag for right after I work out. I personally don’t like using it at night on days that I wear make up because I feel like it doesn’t remove my makeup completely. But, I use it at night on the days I don’t wear makeup. My favorite time to use it is in the morning before school. I normally don’t have a lot of time in the morning to get ready and this is so easy to use. I just pour it on a cotton ball, rub it on my face, then put on all of my other skin care stuff. I feel refreshed whenever I use it. It’s really hydrating too. Sometimes when I use face wipes my face feels a little tight after and this doesn’t make my face feel tight at all. It’s an amazing product. I love love love it.

Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Review

I love this eye makeup remover. I have used so many different types. I always have to use the brand names ones that are more expensive. Most of the drugstore ones end up getting in my eye and burning my eyeballs. Pretty much every time I use eye makeup remover to take off mascara and eyeliner it gets in my eyes. Because let’s face it, I’m not a careful person. The drugstore ones always burn my eyes. My eyeballs feel like a mixture of being on fire and someone squirting lemon juice in them. Then my eyes are bloodshot the next day and that’s just not a hot look for anyone, especially me. I have sampled a lot of the higher end ones, but I never fell in love with any of them. I fell in lust with a few, but it wasn’t true love. I decided to try the Sephora one because I love Sephora. I love the store, the brand, just everything. It makes me happy. This stuff gets everything off so easily. I don’t have to scrub my eyes and rip out my eyelashes to try to get every last bit of mascara and eyeliner off. And the best part about it was when I got it in my eyes it didn’t burn. I have not used an eye makeup remover as amazing as this one. And it’s not expensive either ! It was like $6 just for the smallest size, which is like how much the drugstore ones cost! I just love it and think everyone and their mother needs to try it out. <3

Evian Facial Spray Review

When I first saw this it was love at first sight. I live in California, it’s really dry here. Especially compared to Florida where I’m originally from. I thought that this was going to be amazing. Nothing would feel better than a cool little mist whenever my face feels dry. It feels great on a hot summer day but it doesn’t hydrate your skin or anything. It’s not good for your skin. Since it is water it draws the water out of your skin and then evaporates, which causes you to have drier skin. But, it is great if you’re a makeup artist and do photo shoots. I used this for one to help the makeup not look cakey and blend a little easier. I still use it. I keep one of these with me in my beach bag for whenever I go to the pool and need just a little bit of something. It’s not something I recommend anyone to use daily because of how drying it is for your skin. If you want to use something as an instant refresher throughout the day this is not the product for you.

E.L.F. Under Eye Concealer & Highlight Review

I have a love hate relationship with this product. I hate the under eye concealer. But then again I hate most under eye concealers. I get freckles underneath my eyes if I’m outside for even 5 minutes. Most under eye concealers I use either get really cakey or make my freckles look gray. Both of them are really embarrassing to happen. This just didn’t work at all for me. Whenever I would wear it I would have random people tell me that my mascara smudged under my eye. Every time I would go and check in a mirror, see the smudges, and try to rub them off only to realize they was just my freckles. But, I love the highlighter. I use it all the time. I use it to highlight my cheekbones, cupid’s bow, nose, and inner corner of my eyes. I always use a powder highlight over it just to set it. It looks amazing as an inner corner highlight. Whenever I use it and set it with a powder highlight I look more alive and awake. I would repurchase this just for the highlight, it’s that amazing.

Job Searching Outfit of The Day

I tried to venture out into the cold world to find a job. I don’t know 100% what kind of job I want. All I know is I want to work somewhere fun. I thought that I should wear something fun instead of something more professional and traditional that I normally would. I wore black liquid leggings from Pacsun that I found on sale there one day, a black lacy frilly tank top from Express, and my favorite boots that I wear 99% of the time. I wore a bunch of random rings, a gold Juicy watch, my favorite bow bracelet that my best friend Danielle got me for my birthday, and some fun gold dangly earrings. For my make up I just wore thick eyeliner, a little blush and bronzer, and then dark red lips. Later on in the day I decided I was sick of dark red lips so I took it off and used my concealer and clear lip gloss to have nude lips. My other best friend Amber and I adventured all around LA turning in job applications and resumes. It was a productive day. Only problem was that it was way too hot to wear my hair down and all black.

Easy School Outfit of The Day September 20th

My best friend Amber spent the night before our morning class. We barely got any sleep, like usual and we didn’t have a lot of time to get ready because we needed our Starbucks. I wanted to be as comfy as possible without wearing sweats. I wore a big orange shirt from Express with some gray leggings from Express and my favorite boots from some random store. For my make up I just used the Naked Palette to do an easy eye look with my favorite Bobbi Brown gel liner in black, did my usual foundation routine with a little bit of bronzer and blush, then for my lips mixed Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple and Red Velvet. I love this look because it’s one of the most outfits, yet still looks pulled together enough for school.

Make up of The Night September 16th

My dad asked me to go out to dinner with him when he was in LA because I never get to see him. I of course had to say yes. I decided not to do any crazy make up because he’s very blunt. One time I had teal and navy blue ombre type winged eyeliner and he asked what the hell was on my eyes. Ever since then I have tried to not do anything too dramatic or colorful around him. I just did my normal foundation routine, a darker bronzy eye with nude lips. It’s such an easy neutral look. No crazy colors, and it flatters everyone! I just put some Big Sexy Hair Mousse in my hair and scrunched it a little bit. Then I just let it air dry. It was an easy look and took less than 30 minutes to do both hair and make up. Which is one of the most important things for me because I don’t have a lot of free time.

Saturday September 15th Makeup of The Night

I decided I needed to do fun makeup to go along with my outfit. I did a bright purple eye using the Urban Decay 15 Anniversary Palette and the Naked Palette, my Bare Minerals Matte Powder, ELF’s bronzer, and Lime Crime’s lipstick in D’Lilac. At first I couldn’t decide between wearing the Lime Crime lipstick or MAC’s Blankety lipstick with Nars Striptease lip gloss over it. Then I liked how the Lime Crime one was more bright and bold and that’s more my style so I had to wear it.

Saturday September 15th Outfit of The Night

My best friend Amber and I had to go see The Possession. We are both completely obsessed with scary movies. Since it was just the two of us I decided to get dressed up. I will use anything as an excuse to get dressed up. I wore a black Michael Kors shirt that had black and silver sequins all over the front, Abercrombie jeggings, some black boots from a random store, and my red purse from Urban Outfitters. I wore a bunch of random jewelry from random places. I liked this look because it’s different than the normal T-shirt and jeans.

Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara

I got this at Target when it first came out. I have long lashes so I know when a product can make my lashes look longer or when they just look normal. I love this mascara. It’s amazing. It really makes my lashes look super long. I’ve had people ask me what false lashes I’m wearing when I was wearing this mascara. It doesn’t give you any volume. If you only want length then this is perfect. Before I started using the Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara I would wear the Covergirl Lash Blast 24 Hour and then this one on top of it. It’s great for layering. It doesn’t get clumpy or make your lashes get all stuck together either.

Covergirl Lash Blast 24 Hour Mascara

I was really excited when this first came out because I love trying all of the Covergirl Mascaras. It reminded me of the other Covergirl Mascaras. I cannot tell the difference between this one, the Lashblast Fusion, Lashblast Luxe, and Lashblast Volume. They all make my lashes look full and voluminized but not long. If you are looking for length and volume then this is not the mascara for you. But you can layer on other lengthening mascaras over this one for perfect full, long lashes.

Beach Makeup

Since I’ve lived in Southern California I’ve gone to the beach a few times, but never gone in the ocean. It’s freezing. A few days ago I went to Venice Beach. I didn’t want to not wear any makeup because that’s not the most prettiest view. But I also couldn’t wear a lot because I didn’t want my face to sweat off. I just wanted a nice simple easy look. I  wore a little bit of Urban Decay’s Half Baked eye shadow on my lid and a smidge bit of a teal color on my lower lash line to make it a little more colorful. I just wore my Bare Minerals powder foundation and add a little bronzer and blush. For my lips I just used a tinted pink lip balm for a little color. I had to add a little mascara just to open up my eyes. I wore my hair more natural and wavy instead of straightening it because I was going to the beach. My hair straightened and the beach don’t mix.

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush Review Color: 30 Candy Coral

I was so excited when I saw these blushes when they first came out. I am a complete sucker for anything new. I was so excited about this bouncy formula, but it doesn’t make complete sense. I hate it. I have tried multiple ways of applying it but it never looks good. You can tell I’ve tried so many different ways because of how messed up the picture is.  Sometimes it looks too thick, pigmented and drag queenish. Other times it’s too sheer and looks awkward. It doesn’t look like blush but it looks like something seriously went wrong with my foundation or my make up melted off there. It doesn’t stay on at all. Then it disappears within 20 minutes. I have tried applying it with a regular blush brush, a foundation brush, stippling blush bush, my fingers, and even tried rubbing the blush in the container on my cheeks. I will never repurchase this ever again. I think this might be good for someone whose like a preteen and they just want to play with makeup. It’d be good for a preteen because they don’t really need a bright colored blush nor anything full coverage. But for someone who loves bright, intense make up this is terrible. It might be good for someone who wants a little bit of color at the pool or beach or one of those people who wears make up at the gym, but it’s not for me.

Nicki Minaj Dance (A$$) Remix Music Video Inspired Look

So recently I was watching some of my favorite Nicki Minaj music videos because I’m pretty much in love with her. I love the make up she was wearing in the song Dance (A$$) Remix with Big Sean. It wasn’t as intense as she normally wears but not your average everyday look. I loved the pale yellows, oranges and little bit of browns. I was inspired from this video to do a yellow, orange, and brown eye look. I used my handy dandy Coastal Sense 88 Color Eye Shadow Palette for my eyes. I lined my eyes with my Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in black. I did my more full coverage foundation routine instead of my usual foundation routine. I contoured my face a little bit with my ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzer Powder, and highlighted my face with a little bit of Wet n Wild Mega Glo in shade 345 and one of my Covergirl Blush Trios that I don’t have the name of. Nicki’s skin always looks perfect and beautifully highlighted. On my lips I mixed MAC’s Saint Germain and Pink Nouveau lipsticks then put on NYC clear lip plumper. I feel like this is a really fun every day look. It’s not really overly colorful like some of Nicki’s looks but it’s more dramatic than my everyday looks.

Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara

I saw this on sale at Target one day so of course I decided I couldn’t live without it. I already tried the regular Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara and I liked it, but not enough to repurchase it. At first I hated it. The formula was way too wet. It didn’t make my lashes look full. It only made them look long, which every other mascara can do because I have long eyelashes. I decided to stick it out because maybe after a week my opinion would change. It did. This is my favorite mascara that I have ever used. For everyday use I just apply one coat because that’s all I need. On days I want more dramatic lashes I apply a coat, let it set for 30 to 45 seconds, and then apply another coat. Then they look amazing. I recommend that everyone who wants fabulous lashes try this out at least once.

Simple Makeup Look

Some days I want to do more of an easy simple look than dramatic look. I will just do my foundation and fill in my eyebrows like normal and do really simple eye makeup. I’m just wearing all Urban Decay shadows from the Naked Palette. I have Sin on my lids, Virgin on my inner corners and as a brow highlight, then Naked and Buck in  my crease. For blush I am wearing ELF Tickled Pink. Sometimes I like it to be really plain and just wear chap stick, but then sometimes I like to wear different lipsticks to spruce it up a bit.

Naked Two Palette Review

I like this product. I cannot really compare it to the Naked palette because the Naked palette is more warm golden undertones while this one has more cool silvery undertones. The eye shadows are really pigmented just like the original Naked. Some are matte and some are shimmery. I feel like Tease is the perfect cool tone crease color. I’m not as in love with it as I am with Naked from the Naked palette. This palette also comes with two highlight shades, one matte and one shimmery. Which the original only had a shimmery highlight.  My favorite look is combining Suspect, Snakebite, and YDK together. Pistol and Verve look amazing together. My favorite color is Snakebite because I feel like it’s the perfect smokey color. I can wear it on my lids, blend a little up into my crease and put a little on my lower lash line. Then bam, it’s done. It’s like a one color smokey eye. Chopper is another one of my favorites from this palette because it’s a great lid or crease color. The only thing I don’t love is how it has a little bit of loose glitter which causes fallout, but that can be easily removed. Overall it’s a great palette and would look amazing on people with more cooler skin tones. I love the packing more on this one than the Naked palette. I feel like it’s a sleek and clean look, which is my favorite!

Naked Palette Review

This is my favorite palette of all times. It can do whatever look I want. It does natural, dramatic, smokey, simple, seductive, flirty, everything anyone’s heart could possible desire! I love every single one of these colors. Some of them are matte and some are shimmery, but every single one is really pigmented. I sometimes even use Naked or Buck to fill in my eyebrows. Sometimes for school when I don’t have a lot of time I use Sin on my lids, Naked in my crease, Virgin as a brow bone highlight and inner corner highlight. It seriously takes less than a minute. Then sometimes I’ll add a little bit of Buck in my crease to make it a little darker. If I want more of a dramatic daytime look I will have Smog all of my lids and lower lash line, Buck in my crease, Darkhorse in my outer v, and Half Baked as an inner corner highlight. It doesn’t look like why is this girl wearing such dramatic makeup during the day, but more of a dramatic, seductive daytime look.  I love how all of these colors are more warm toned and have more golden undertones. The golden and warm colors compliment my ruddy undertone more than cool colors do. I would really recommend this palette to anyone and everyone. It’s a great staple piece in anyone’s makeup collection. It’s the only eye shadows I take with me whenever I’m going on a trip because it has everything. I am in love with it, I would marry it if I could.

Make Up of The Day September 10th 2012

Today I went to The International Congress of Esthetics and Spa, Long Beach 2012 for the second day, I decided to do a simple look. I just used the Naked and Naked 2 Palettes to create my eyes. I used my Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner to create a little baby winged liner look. On my face I used Smashbox Photo Finish Primer and my new Bare Minerals Matte Foundation in medium beige. On my cheeks I used this Covergirl blush that I’ve had for like ever that doesn’t have a name anymore. My favorite part of this look was my lips. I used two Revlon Lip Butters, 040 Red Velvet and 035 Candy Apple. I put Red Velvet on more of my corners of my lips but blended it in towards the middle slightly with my pinky finger. Then I put Candy Apple on the center of my lips. This is one of my go to looks if I’m going out because it’s really simple and quick. I have combination skin and get really oily. I used Bare Minerals Tinted Mineral Veil with a big fluffy powder brush on my T zone whenever I saw that I was getting a little shiny and it helped!

Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary Eye shadow Palette

The Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary Eye Shadow Palette offers a wide variety of colors. Every single one of them is really pigmented. When they are worn with a primer they last for hours and hours. They are all shimmery except the black is matte. They all blend incredibly easily. I normally wear these colors when I want more dramatic makeup. One of my favorite looks in spring and summer is wearing Deep End (teal) winged eyeliner with Evidence (navy blue) on my lower lash line blending into the winged liner. Whenever I want a really colorful daytime look I normally wear Junkshow (bright pink) all of my lid with a matte brown in the crease and a little bit of Tainted (light pink) in my inner corner. I will normally add a dramatic winged eyeliner to this just to give it a little extra oomph. When I go out with friends at night and feel like doing something colorful, yet dramatic over 50% of the time I will do a purple smokey eye. I use Omen (bright purple) all over my lid, a matte brown in my crease, Half Truth (purplish gray) on my outer v, and Tainted on my inner corner with dramatic thick black eyeliner and lots of mascara. This palette offers a lot of neutral colors but I rarely use them because I rarely need super pigmented shimmery neutral colors. The only thing I don’t like about this palette is the color Vanilla. I cannot figure out a way to use it and enjoy it. I don’t like it as an inner corner highlight, nor as a brow bone highlight. I love every other color though. My favorite thing about this palette is the packaging. Maybe because purple is one of my colors. I love the top part and how it has the little designs on the sides of it. They’re just too cute. But, the ud on the top of it is the finishing touch that makes it perfect.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner Review

Color: Birthday Suit
I needed a cream eye shadow that I could just apply all over my lid and as a brow bone highlight in the mornings before school. I went to Sephora and found Benefit had cream shadows. I just had to try it. I was debating between Birthday Suit and R.S.V.P. and ended up getting Birthday Suit because R.S.V.P. was sold out. On the first day of school I slept through my alarm and woke up 5 minutes before I was suppose to leave. I brushed my teeth, grabbed some make up and was out the door. I only grabbed this eye shadow, my foundation, blush, and some chapstick. I even forgot mascara. It was okay because this eye shadow saved the day. It make me looked as put together as I possibly could. Since it isn’t a matte shade it also made me look a little more awake and alive. It was so easy to apply I did it while I was driving, well stopped at the red lights. It stayed on all day without a primer. It’s a great shimmer shadow that can be used alone or as a base. I cannot wait to try more of these colors. They’re easy to use and pretty affordable. I would compare them to the Make Up For Ever Aqua Creams, and the Maybelline Eyestudio Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow. The only difference is that they are more creamier than the Maybelline Shadows. These are defienitely a must have for anyone who likes make up. You can find them on Benefit’s website, at Sephora and Ulta.

Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick Review

From Left to Right
Great Pink Planet, D'Lilac, Cosmopop
From Left to Right
Great Pink Planet, D'Lilac, Cosmopop

I saw Lime Crime lipsticks at The Makeup Show in LA earlier this year. They had really bright lipsticks, and I’m not one who shies away from bright lipsticks. I had to try a few out. I’m so happy I did because I love love love them. They are really creamy and go on oh so smoothly. My favorite thing about them is how opaque they are. They are super pigmented. They don’t smell bad like some lip products do, but they have a light scent. They have a great variety of colors. They have every color in the rainbow and even a gray and black one! Another thing I love is the packaging. It’s a light purple tube with a unicorn, stars, and Lime Crime written on it in a metallic silver. The three I have are Great Pink Planet, D’Lilac, and Cosmopop. My favorite is Great Pink Planet. I love wearing it when I just do a simple winged eyeliner or even when I do a bold smokey eye. I love wearing D’Lilac when I do my simple winged eyeliner and it even looks amazing when I do a smokey purple eye. I don’t like Cosmopop though. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great color, but it doesn’t work for my skin tone. It would look amazing on someone with a neutral skin tone instead of my ruddy one. But overall these lipsticks are amazing. I would compare the quality to MAC’s lipsticks. You can check out Lime Crime at their web site http://www.limecrimemakeup.com if you are interested.
