Urban Decay 24./7 Glide-On Eye Pencils

I always wanted to try their eyeliners because I’ve heard such amazing things about them. But I could never get over the fact that they’re $19 for one pencil when I normally buy NYX eyeliners. I decided I needed to just get it over it and buy one, so I got Pervision. It’s like the blackest black. I fell in love with it! They are so pigmented and last forever. They have such a good staying power. Normally when I put eyeliner on my waterline it will somehow disappear within an hour, but not these liners. They stay on forever! I got a pack that had two small sizes of Zero and one other color. I loved loved loved them! Then for Christmas my mom got me the smokey eye pencil set. I love them! They are so easy. My favorite thing is that you can wear them with a natural eye, a smokey eye, or even just by them self. When I’m running late to work or school I can just add a little eyeliner instead of not doing any eye makeup. They are incredible. I love them so much and don’t think I could ever live without them. I am going to get a few more because they have so many good and pretty colors.

DIY Mask for Acne

I love doing those little DIY masks that you read in magazines and see pictures of on Pinterest. My all time favorite one is a mixture of baking soda and lemon juice. Whenever my skin is either breaking out, in desperate need of exfoliation or just feels gross I use this mask. I make sure I get all of my caked on make up off with a make up removing wipe, then wash it with my cleanser and clarisonic to make sure it’s super clean. I get a small little bowl, and pour in an equal amount of baking soda and lemon juice. I mix it up then apply it with a brush. I leave it on until it dries. Then I make sure I take all of it off with water. I always apply a serum and heavy moisturizer after. The next day my face is a lot clearer and just looks healthy. I typically do this at night so then I can just go to bed after I’m done.

Hair Masks

My hair always needs extra TLC. It is always getting straightened, curled, teased, put in a messy bun, or a tight ponytail or bun. And on top of that I’m one of those people who washes their hair every single day. As you can tell, I do not take the best care of my hair. Whenever I realize that my hair is looking not so hot I do a deep conditioning treatment. I have three favorite hair masks. I will put grape seed oil all over my dry scalp and hair, then blast it with a blow dryer on a medium heat and put in a towel. I’ll leave it in at least 30 minutes and sometimes over night. I’ll always wash it out and condition it. Then my hair feel so soft , healthy, and just happy. Another hair mask I love is Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle. I am in love with this! It makes my hair feel like the best feeling ever. Whenever I have time for a long shower or bath I just slather it all over my hair and scalp. I’ll leave it in at least 3 minutes, well more like 10 or 15. Then I’ll rinse it out and wash and condition my hair like normal. Sometimes if my ends are looking a little fried from using too much heat on it I will wash, condition, then just add the Aussie Deep Conditioner to my ends for a few minutes. It is my favorite hair product that I’ve ever tried.

Make Up of the Day Jan 30th

I had to run around and do errands so I decided that it was a good time to get a little dressed up. For my eye makeup I use the Naked Palette and just did a simple natural eye using Naked in the crease, Buck in my outer V, Sin on my lids, and Virgin as my brow bone highlight. I added a little bronzer instead of blush. And for my lips I used my new Mac Up The Amp lipstick. I am in love with this lipstick. It’s the perfect pop of color and goes great with a natural eye. It’s such an easy simple look.

Studio Gear Matte Foundation (liquid) & Invisible Pressed Powder

I was looking for a new foundation in Ulta and I asked the lil woman for help because I can never decide if I like a foundation or not. She showed me a few different brands and I wasn’t feeling any of them. Then I told her I had more sensitive skin and she brought me to the Studio Gear brand. She explained how it was great for sensitive skin because it was made for people with rosacea. I decided why not. If I didn’t like it in a week I could always return it. But, it didn’t irritate my skin. So many foundations will make me break out or make my skin just feel weird.
Liquid
I like it. It’s not my favorite ever or a holy grail foundation, but it does its job. It’s a medium to full coverage. I use half a pump, then if I need more coverage will use a little more. It works fine with my oily/combination skin. I use it with just a normal foundation brush and then sometimes blend it out with a flat top kabuki brush or stippling brush.
Powder
On days when I don’t feel like using a liquid foundation or am too lazy to spend more than 5 minutes on my makeup I use this powder. It has enough coverage to even out my skin tone. But if I have really dark circles, acne, or any red areas I use concealer and then the powder over it. I love it so much. It makes my skin feel nice and smooth, not gross and cakey like some other powders have.

Revlon Lip Butters Versus Maybelline Baby Lips

I saw the Baby Lips in a magazine, then had to go find them in Target. I got the clear one first. I didn’t want to go overboard and get all of them only to hate them.  But I fell head over heels in love. They are so moisturizing! They make my lips feel so soft. It wasn’t like the normal chapstick feeling, it felt like there was something on my lips to make them silky smooth instead of just making sure my lips aren’t chapped. It feels really lightweight as if there is nothing on them at all. I went and got all of the other colors right away. I love them. They are perfect for a subtle daytime look because of how sheer they are. But you can always wear them over a lipliner or layer on the color to make it more opaque. I wear the pink one all the time, it’s my favorite. I love pairing it with a little foundation, blush, and mascara because it looks so natural and effortless and takes less than 5 minutes. It’s great for when I’m just running errands or am running late to school or work and want to look at least a little put together. I saw the Revlon Lip Butters in Target (big surprise) and thought they were trying to compete with the Baby Lips. I immediately wanted to get one or two just to compare them. I love the Lip Butters. I feel like the Baby Lips and Lip Butters have two different purposes though. The Baby Lips want to be a natural, sheer pretty look and the Lip Butters want to be a more colorful pretty look. The Lip Butters not only are more pigmented than the Baby Lips, but they also have a huge variety of colors. They make my lips feel super smooth and hydrated. I love how you can layer it to get a really opaque color or can blend it out with your finger to get a sheer color. I feel like the Lip Butters are better to have because they can be blended out to make a more sheer color or layered to be a more vibrant color.

Clarisonic Mia 2

I always wanted to try the Clarisonic since I’ve heard everyone rave about it. When I was in school (to be an esthetician) the teachers would always have good things to say about it. I would read blog post reviews and watch product review videos on youtube about it. Nobody ever had a bad thing to say. I finally got the pink one at Ulta in July 2012. I love it! My skin always feels so nice and soft after I use it. It just had this clean feeling that you can’t get with washing your face normally. The only bad thing was I broke out a little bit, but it wasn’t too bad. After about two or three weeks my face got use to it. I only use it at night. I’ll use it for one minute on my face and then another minute on my neck because my neck needs to be clean too. I would recommend everyone to try this at least once because it’ll change everyone’s life. It’s that good.
